Game logic

The board displays cards arranged in rows and columns, face down. The player reveals cards by selecting them with motion — first one card in the bottom row, then another card in the top row. After revealing two cards, the game checks whether they form a matching pair. If the cards match, the pair is removed from the board with a selected animation. If the cards do not match, they are flipped back face down. The game is played in rounds — after all pairs on the board are found, a new round begins with a new set of cards. The game ends after a set number of rounds.

Optionally, at the beginning of each round, all cards in the top row can be briefly revealed so that the player can memorize their positions.

Template configuration

STEP I — Basic data

In the first step, you enter the basic data for the application created from the template. Set:

  • Graphic icon — select or upload a custom icon that will represent your application in the library
  • Application name — enter the name under which the application will be visible
  • Description — add a short description displayed on the application icon
  • Project — set the graphical project resolution (default 1920×1080 px) and responsive mode

For more details, see the chapter Creating an application.

STEP II — Appearance and parameters

In the second step of template editing, you give your application a new look. The following configuration panels are available on the right side of the editor:

App Background

Set a background image or color on which the cards will be displayed.

See chapter Changing the graphics and parameters.

Objects

Objects are the graphics that appear on the front side of the cards. There are two pair variants: identical objects form a pair — two cards with the same graphic will appear on the board, or different objects form a pair — two cards with different graphics will appear on the board. In the free version of the template, two cards in a pair share the same graphic.

You can create up to 10 card pairs. For each object you can set:

  • object graphic — the image displayed on a revealed card

Card Art

You can customize the appearance of the cards:

  • Front of the card — the graphic visible when a card is revealed (the card frame/background on which the object is displayed)
  • Card back — the graphic visible when a card is face down (the reverse side)

Settings

The settings panel allows you to adjust the game mechanics:

  • No. rounds — how many rounds the game will have (default: 3)
  • No. columns — how many columns of cards are displayed on the board (default: 4); the number of rows is calculated automatically based on the number of objects
  • Reveal the top row after the draw — at the start of a round, cards are briefly revealed so the player can memorize their positions (default: enabled, reveal time: 4 seconds)

Card Pair Animation

Choose the effect that appears after correctly matching two cards:

  • Disappear — matched cards smoothly fade out
  • Rotation — matched cards rotate and disappear
  • Decreasing — matched cards shrink and disappear
  • Connecting — matched cards slide towards each other and disappear

Sounds

The template allows you to set sounds for various events:

  • Selecting a card — sound played when a card is clicked/selected
  • Correct match — sound played when a pair is found
  • Wrong match — sound played when the revealed cards do not form a pair
  • Background sound — music played in the background during the game

Live Preview

When modifying parameters, you can keep track of the effect of your changes on the application preview.

STEP III — Additional screens

In the third step, enable selected additional screens in your application.

Within the Memory template, you can add an instruction screen, intro screen, start popup, success popup, end screen and ranking screen. For each screen, you can use your own dedicated graphics and set parameters for texts, colours and backgrounds.

Details of screen editing can be found in the chapter Screens configuration.

Recommendations for your graphics and illustrations

Application icon

See chapter Creating an application.

App Background

See chapter Changing the graphics and parameters.

Object graphics (card front)

Recommendations for object graphics displayed on revealed cards:

  • Recommended image file format: PNG (with transparent background)
  • Recommended resolution: 200x200px
  • Graphics should be distinct and easy to differentiate so that players can quickly memorize them

Card graphics (front and back)

Recommendations for front and back card graphics:

  • Recommended image file format: PNG
  • The front graphic should have a visible area for the object (e.g. a frame or background with a cut-out centre)
  • The back graphic should be uniform — all face-down cards look the same

Ideas for using the Memory template

The Memory game is an excellent exercise for memory and concentration. Choose themed objects to enrich the activity with educational elements.

Fun and Education — Replace the default objects with graphics of letters, numbers, country flags, planets or animals. Create a version where one card in a pair contains a question and the other an answer (e.g. a math equation and its result). Encourage children to engage in active play that involves both memory and movement.

Events and Entertainment — Use graphics related to the event theme as card objects. Replace the board background with a graphic promoting your event. Engage participants in a memory competition on an interactive floor.

Promotion and Advertising — Place product logos or visual identity elements on the cards. Create a memory game with graphics promoting your company's offer. Use branded graphics as the application background.
