If this camera doesn’t work in Motioncube, please test it using the manufacturer’s official software.

  • Visit the OpenNI SDK page on orbbec.com and download OpenNI SDK 2.3.0.86 for Windows.
  • After downloading, unpack the archive and navigate to OpenNI_2.3.0.86_beta6_windows\samples\bin directory (or similar).
  • Connect the Orbbec Astra Pro camera directly to your computer (avoid using an extension cable).
  • Launch SimpleViewer and verify if the image preview is visible.
  • If the image preview does not appear, additional drivers may be required. You can download them from https://www.orbbec.com/developers/openni-sdk/ (click on Orbbec Camera Driver for Windows).
  • Once the preview works, test the camera again with an extension cable (if you plan to use one).
  • If you have any problems, please refer to the documentation https://astra-wiki.readthedocs.io/en/latest/.
