If this camera doesn’t work in Motioncube, please test it using the manufacturer’s official software.

  • Download the Kinect for Windows SDK:
    Visit the Kinect for Windows SDK page and download the latest version of Kinect for Windows SDK 2.0.

  • Install the SDK:
    Run the downloaded installer and follow the instructions to install the Kinect SDK on your computer.

  • Connect the Kinect to Your Computer:

    • Use the Kinect Adapter for Windows to connect the Kinect sensor to your PC via USB 3.0.
    • Ensure the adapter is connected to a power outlet.
  • Launch Kinect Configuration Verifier:
    After installing the SDK, open the Kinect Configuration Verifier tool (included in the SDK installation). This will check whether your Kinect is properly connected and functioning.

  • Test the Sensor:

    • Open the Kinect Studio application, included with the SDK.
    • Verify if the RGB and depth streams are visible in real-time.
    • Test hand/body tracking if you plan to use these features.
  • Troubleshooting:

    • If the Kinect is not recognized, ensure that the USB 3.0 port is functional and try restarting your computer.
    • Check the power connection to the Kinect Adapter.
    • Refer to the troubleshooting section in the Kinect for Windows SDK documentation if the problem persists.
  • Test with an Extension Cable (Optional):
    If you plan to use an extension cable, test the Kinect again to ensure it works properly without signal loss.
